On behalf of the team at RaboPlus I'd like to wish you a fantastic festive season and to thank you for your support in 2009.

On one hand it's hard to believe it will be 2010 next week, yet on the other it seems like an eternity since we were last celebrating Xmas. It's also hard to believe that RaboPlus will be 4 years old in a matter of weeks – those 4 years have really flown by!

2009 has had it's challenges, opportunities, and rewards and I see 2010 being along similar lines.

We take much pride in what we've achieved in our brief history, but more pride in the relationships we have built up with our customers over the past 4 years.

We have a few new products planned for 2010 plus we will be taking the relationships we have built up with customers to a new level and continuing to be pioneers in the NZ banking scene when it comes to transparency, social networking and engagement with customers.

There are a number of highlights, and they are not all about banking, that come to mind when I look back on 2009:

The continued full and frank conversations I have had with many of you in this blog and our ratings pages
Winning the Sunday Star Times Canstar Banking Awards - Best Online Savings account (we've won it every year since opening our “virtual doors”)
Netguide People's Choice Best Financial Website
Helping Kiwi musician, Katie Thompson, raise sufficient funds to produce her first album
Sending four very excited Kiwis off to Paris to watch the Tour de France firsthand
Launching the RaboPlus Financial Confidence Index (there was a reference to the index in a recent report from the Ministry of Economic Development Capital Markets Taskforce)
The first year as principal sponsors of BikeNZ, and recently sharing in the successes our Kiwi athletes have had on the world stage

Have a safe and prosperous Xmas and New Year. For those taking a break, make the most of the opportunity to recharge your batteries. And for those working through, I hope a break is not that far away.

Of course Mark, and in fact I picked my bike up this week after having had it serviced by the AvantiPlus guys in Lower Hutt (I've hardly been on the MTB since big coast last year). See you at the start!
