New Year, New You

Submitted by Diana Clement on Thursday, 14 January 2010 Category: Managing your money I'm the eternal optimist. It annoys some readers. But I really do believe there are silver linings in financial downturns. Last year was a rude reminder to many people not to put all their eggs in one basket, and that living it up personally on your business profits or even capital can end in tears. Many will have learned from those lessons and go on to be better investors or business people. Ask those who were in business through the 1987 to the mid 1990s.

Thank you and have a great Xmas and New Year!

Submitted by Mike Heath on Thursday, 24 December 2009 Category: RaboPlus On behalf of the team at RaboPlus I'd like to wish you a fantastic festive season and to thank you for your support in 2009. On one hand it's hard to believe it will be 2010 next week, yet on the other it seems like an eternity since we were last celebrating Xmas. It's also hard to believe that RaboPlus will be 4 years old in a matter of weeks – those 4 years have really flown by!

Good gift giving

Submitted by Diana Clement on Friday, 18 December 2009 Category: Managing your money Have you ever noticed that "gift" is a four-lettered word? I don't mean to sound like the Grinch. But there is so much time, effort, and money wasted over the buying and giving of gifts. If we all engaged our brains gift giving would be far more successful.

Your feedback to "What would your ideal online bank look like and what would it offer?"

Submitted by Mike Heath on Monday, 14 December 2009 Category: RaboPlus In last week's edition of ActiveMoney I asked for feedback on what the ideal online bank would look like. I must say how pleased I was with the breadth and depth of the feedback and also how closely aligned many of the suggestions were with our plans for RaboPlus.

What would your ideal online bank look like?

Submitted by Mike Heath on Thursday, 10 December 2009 Category: RaboPlus If I was to ask you to describe your ideal online bank, what would it look like? And what about products, are there any new types of products that you think we should be offering?

Christmas money mistakes to beware of

Submitted by Diana Clement on Tuesday, 8 December 2009 Category: Managing your money The season of silly spending is upon us. It never ceases to amaze me at how we (and sometimes I) start throwing money away come December 1.

Why are our Term Deposit rates so much lower than the major banks?

Submitted by Mike Heath on Tuesday, 3 November 2009 Category: Interest Rates The single most common question or piece of criticism we have received over the past year is with regards to the rates we offer for Term Deposits, and in particular the ones most popular with Kiwis (1m to 6m).
